#CoronaChronicles:- Value of human life

It’s so ironical to a point of being ridiculous. Has man really ever valued human life so much as he is concerned now?.

 Even a single loss of life to corona is considered very sad and disturbing news,  but does the world actually really care much about human life?

I wonder what happens when all this is over? Will we still continue to value the life of other people as we do today? Will we come out with a changed race?

Deaths due to other causes far exceed these numbers. Starting with deaths across the globe due to malnutrition. So many children die each day due to lack of food, but do we really bother,  deaths due to road traffic accidents in India is huge. Post corona Will we drive with helmets? Will, we do not speak on mobile phones while driving without caring about others.,? Will we stop rampantly killing people due to drunk driving? Will we learn any lesson

Wars kill many more than corona. Gun violence in the United States kills so many innocent kids and adults, far more than what corona does. So post corona Will we become a more tolerant and kinder race? Will we work on stopping gun violence?

Communal hatred has taken lives for decades so post corona Will we work on situations where petty arguments do not lead to murders, where mob lynching, religious fights do not lead to the deaths of many innocents, where riots don’t break loose? Where in the name of communal hatred we do not burn houses and families inside? where you do not slaughter your fellow human beings in anger and hatred and in the name of god?

There are so many dying in war-torn places, places like Syria Iraq, Afghanistan Kashmir which have been suffering forever, and no one really cares. Do we really value human life so much as we are pretending today?

We can’t provide food to the malnourished, we can’t provide medicines to the sick in the poor countries of the world, we can’t be religiously tolerant, we can’t ignore hatred. instead, we are building armies, we are building weapons, we all want to go nuclear, the amount of money that goes in it is unthinkable. Will we stop? More importantly shouldn’t we stop???? Isn’t it time to think about it.

So I pray not just for safety in times of corona but more so I pray for A world more at peace. I pray for love between fellow human beings, I pray for no wars, no nuclear threats, no fear of religion led violence, no threat from fanatics, I pray sense prevails in all mankind and we rise above our differences and work on building a peaceful planet. I pray we all learn to co-exist and live with love. I pray humans to start truly valuing human lives more than what they claim today
