BELIEVING IN YOURSELF CAN BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE

Be Yourself
“Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” – E.E. Cummings

Believe in yourself is a key issue in achieving anything in life. A self-confident person has high self-esteem, self-respect, and belief in her- or himself. By developing your self-confidence, you will be able to achieve your goals, take opportunities that come your way and also have the strength to overcome any obstacles. Everybody is lacking confidence in something; not everyone is perfect. Whether it be giving a speech in front of the class, competing in a large competition, or accepting one’s appearance, people lack the confidence needed to enjoy life. Helen Keller said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” This quote is absolutely true because if one does not have confidence they can never achieve or go beyond what they want to do.

Some people have so much confidence that they are not afraid to do anything. Others are the complete opposite, and are scared of being judged or ridiculed by others. Self-confidence cannot be taught, but is reached by the individual when they decide to believe in themselves. In order to attain self-confidence, one needs to believe that they can do the task at hand. It cannot be accomplished overnight, but slowly gets stronger and stronger over a period of time. One of the major ways to obtain confidence is acting like one is confident, even when not. Acting will transfer into truly being self-confident and having high self-esteem. Another way to gain confidence is by talking to others. Talking to people that care will lift one up by talking about one’s terrific skills, boosting confidence level immediately.

•Start Spend your time in good environment. Avoid Negative people as they pull you down and demotivate you.
•Use your Strengths to build your confidence
•Keep writing your achievements in life because even a small progress will help keep you motivated and give you the confidence you need.
•If you are afraid of something, do it anyway. Often fear disappears when you face the things you are scared of, as you experience it how it is rather than how you have imagined. You will find the reality is that talking to that person was actually quite fun or attending that interview wasn’t as uncomfortable as you thought
•Be gentle with yourself and don’t put yourself down if you make a mistake – you are only human and we all make mistakes sometimes. The good thing is that you learn from them so that you know what not to do until you achieve your goal. If you keep trying, you will eventually succeed.
