#CoronaChronicles: Pity

Kaizen training solutions

2 months back When the lockdown was total the roads were deserted. My drive to my health center would be like a scene from any sci-fi apocalyptic movie. All alone on the roads I would long to see traffic. I would long to see some other people. I didn’t see many. And the feeling was sickening and scary. Nature however was in full bloom. The trees full of flowers, lush greenery everywhere, the sky blue and clear, the air fresh and clean, the kind of weather we long for yet never get to see especially in the metropolitan cities. I pitied fellow humans all locked up in cages in homes unable to appreciate or enjoy or see this full bloom and beauty of nature. I felt pity that this clean air and lush greens can’t be seen by most people. what is our planet without the people in it? What is the world without its residents. ?

As life resumes slowly towards normalcy and I see the rise in traffic I don’t think I have ever been more delighted and excited to see a traffic jam. The joy of seeing fellow human beings is a delight to my sore eyes. It gives me hope that slowly things are resuming towards normalcy
And then all of a sudden a scary thought crosses my mind. What will happen to nature once man comes back. ?Will we again go back to our rampant ways of wreaking havoc on the planet. ?Will we again start polluting the air water soil etc etc.? Will we again start torturing the planet?
I do not know who to pity more. Mother Earth gives unconditionally and does not get her fair share of return in form of love and respect and care from us humans or the ungrateful arrogant human beings who destroy the abundance they get and are depriving themselves of clean air water and beauty the planet offers. It’s really sad as to why we are unable to strike a balance. Why our greed is way more than our need. Why we can’t live symbiotically with earth and instead live as parasites off it.

Dear human beings do not come back unchanged. Do not come back with your arrogant and brash attitude. Come back with Respect for the planet and all its offerings, come back pledging that You will not destroy the earth. The world is no good without you in it but please realize if you continue in your bad ways there will remain nothing left for the earth to offer you to sustain your existence. Do realize that you are because it is.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay put.
