Corona Chronicles (Blog 11) :-

The donkey story

Since childhood I made up a story and told my son.
The story of the man and a donkey. A man would keep filling a pot of water for a donkey. He would watch the donkey struggle in harsh summers and think of it as his duty to feed water to the animal. The donkey would just wander around but not drink from the pot. The man would feel sorry and angry for the poor creature and drag him towards the pot in an attempt to make him drink. Yet to no avail. This would frustrate the man. His little son asked him why he doesn’t stop trying? He doesn’t value or make use of anything You offer father. Why not Let him suffer.?

A fact is you can get water for a donkey but not force it to drink that water. Similarly you can provide a lot of sense , spiritual knowledge , good thoughts, positive stuff to a person but not force that to be inculcated in his life. You can’t force anyone on a path till they themselves desire. Each person chooses what path in life he has to follow.
So why keep offering water to a donkey whose rigid enough to not drink it???who always rejects it.
The answer is simple . Your actions should never be based on or governed by the response of the opposite person. What your karma is for you to decide and follow. It’s independent of how others perceive or accept it. If there’s something you feel you are doing right do not allow the rejection or rigidity of others to stop you . Do not let their lack of reciprocity stop you. Your karma is purely for you based on your heart and brain. It can’t be based on what someone else’s karmas are. Do not give to anyone in this world in the hope of getting back or expectations of a reward for it.
Give Because you know the right path and you wish to choose it and walk on it. It is tiring and requires patience but A day comes in the life of every donkey roaming astray in the jungle of life when thirsty and tired he goes In search to find water? Otherwise How will he survive? keep filling that pot of water as much as you can . One day it will become thirsty and drink. And that day my friend you would have truly contributed something valuable to society. That day your purpose of life would have been truly achieved. Try to give as much as you can everyday. Have faith and patience
Do not give up.
Stay safe stay put
