How To Be A Light For Someone
“Be a light, not a judge. Be a model not a critic.”
Have you ever met a person that just seems to light up the room no matter where they go and welcomes all without judgment? Or maybe you’ve met someone who is easy-going, looks for the good points in a conversation or assignment, and doesn’t complain or criticize? I know I’ve met a few in my life and it’s something I aspire to.
Most people have had their fair share of criticism and being judged by others, and nobody likes it. What causes it? Habits.
Bad and good habits are part of the human experience. We learn much from both and hopefully discover that good habits take us much further when dealing with other people.
Bad habits develop for various reasons, and often they are so ingrained that we don’t realize or notice them.
What can you do? Take a look at yourself and be sure to ask others who know you, are you a model for others, or do you need some work in that area? Do you tend to judge others too? And if the answer is yes, you can decide to stay the same or change. The choice is always up to you.
