Corona Chronicles (Post-1)

As we are in the grip of corona virus I have been asked by many people about viral testing. The only test is done by Ncdc which is a throat swab and nasopharyngeal swab. There’s no other test of blood available right now to diagnose corona virus. However points of much more importance and significance in the current scenario
1. Normal cough and cold is doing the rounds in Delhi ncr at the current moment and many are suffering from cold fever and sore throat. The best solution in such cases is to keep the infected person isolated and not I repeat not send to office or school or college. We will not be able to distinguish symptoms and. Due to lack of easy testing many will get panicked and disease is contagious so will spread. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
2. Avoid all travel plans at the current. Even if it means you loose money. Health is a way more expensive thing. Airports stations metros buses are places where ppl are huddled together and higher risk of infection.
3. Avoid visits to malls , cinema halls etc. same problem of over crowding
4. Pls do not organise any sort of parties or events currently including holi. Prefer to stay indoors as we want to prevent human to human transmission and currently it’s impossible to distinguish who is suffering from which virus.
4. Emphasis is on hand washing and minimal touching. Keep hand sanitizers with you and your kids and use at all times. Do not shake hands or hug people you meet. Go back to our Indian original namaste.
5. Keep your nutrition high and take a good well balanced diet. Frequently sip warm water. It’s advantageous in all throat viral infections as viruses survive on cold foods better.
5. Do not start self medicating or consuming any products which are being circulated on many whats app groups. There’s no medicine currently available for corona virus and it can’t be prevented by medicines. The only way to limit spread is by limiting human to human contact.
6. Stop using WhatsApp for rubbish video and information circulating based on all non scientific stuff. Please do not spread panic in your sorroundings. It’s better to be cautious and contain sick people at home and maintain calm. That’s the need of the hour. Parents to not send sick kids to school. And even adults to stay at home if unwell.
5. Elderly people are at a higher risk of mortality and visit to Mandirs , gurudwara, mosque, mata Jagran, chowkis, Guruji Satsang etc etc etc and other religious places where large number of people gather needs to be avoided.
6. This is the most important one as per me. These are difficult times for all of us. Very depressing and demotivating. Everyone fears dying . So specially in your homes etc pls talk positive stuff and try to spread positivity everywhere. The disease is a problem right now but continuously spreading negativity in our homes offices and surroundings is of no use . In fact children morales need to be upped right now. So pls I repeat be cautious , be aware, be alert , be careful. But do not be unnecessarily paranoid, negative, fearful, depressed, and panicked. Do seek medical help if you have any symptoms. God bless us all
Thanks
