What does your ‘SOUL’ want ?

This thought comes to me while eating a plate full of salad. Of course the waist line of most women demands that. That’s what I keep telling myself as I chew on the pieces of cucumber. Yet my dieting plans are not fulfilling the purpose. Because Even though it’s filling my stomach, my heart and mind don’t feel satiated. I crave a piece of rich premium Belgian chocolate and yet the jeans hanging in my closet stare at me angrily. Lord Jesus if only chocolate could be a salad.

I sit thinking what is it that really satisfies us. Not the stomach, not related to highly Calories rich deep fried bhature chane. That itself is another story and I dont even want to get started on that.

What is it that the soul searches. What makes us feel accomplished and complete each night before we go to bed.

Is it the progress we make in our jobs, is it our career improving, is it the increasing bank balance , is it the new shopping packets just delivered from Jabong and amazon, is it a good book we read today or and interesting article on political scenarios across the world. Is it the praise we recieved today, is it the good Heath of our family or good quality family time, for some it might be a good vacation, for others a good hearty conversation with a friend after ages. Each person has a different satisfaction. A different satiation for the soul. A can of beer and a chicken leg, for others it might be serving a hearty meal to their loved ones. For some satiation comes from writing whereas for some it comes from meditation. For some it comes from sadistic pleasure of deriving pain out of other people’s difficult positions. it comes differently to each person.

Why yet the soul is perturbed, why yet in this quest for inner peace we are climbing a ladder whose top we do not seem to reach , most people on most days sleep dissatisfied with their lives, with hardly any joy to imagine for the next day. With an ever growing hunger of the soul which is not met.

Each day the mind craves extraordinary joy with the internal realisation of the futility of this dream, because the mundane and monotony of daily life can’t change into the extraordinary Each day their soul wanders in search of answers to questions about perfect happiness, about attaining a mental state free of worldly worries and yet to be born and not be a part of the chaos and mundane of daily life is impossible a feat to achieve.

5 pieces of Godiva chocolate later I guess One can only satiate the stomach, the soul like a traveler will keep its journey continuing till it needs to search no more.

Hope your journey is filled with more joy and you are able to satisfy your soul!!
